Lauren: We Got You Cys (PCOS: IYKYK)
Thursday May 23, 2024
Thursday May 23, 2024
In this episode of Do It For The Story, Morgan and Stacey dive back into the world of women’s health (and health for anyone with a uterus). They kick things off by recounting their weekend escapades—purging clutter, hosting a dinner party, and even trying their hand at gardening. But the real gem lies in their heartfelt discussion about PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).
Morgan and Stacey talk about a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast where Lauren, best friends with Alex Cooper (host of the Call Her Daddy podcast), courageously shared her health journey. With a daunting 68% chance of developing breast cancer, she made the life-altering decision to undergo a mastectomy in the future. And if that weren’t enough, she was also diagnosed with PCOS.
Morgan and Stacey delve into the complexities of Lauren’s experience, drawing parallels to their own lives and share advice to Lauren as if she were one of their sisters too. As the episode wraps up, they leave listeners with a powerful reminder: prioritize health, seek support, and share your story. Because sometimes, it’s the stories that truly matter.

Please Help New Mexico: An Interview with filmmaker Lois Lipman
Wednesday May 15, 2024
Wednesday May 15, 2024
Stacey & Morgan need your help. Please join their campaign to help spread the word on a very urgent and important issue. The Annapolis Film Festival introduced the DIFTS team to Lois Lipman and her eye opening documentary First We Bombed New Mexico (FWBNM). “FWBNM is the untold story of thousands of American citizens who were radiated by their own government. Never warned, acknowledged, or compensated, the New Mexico Downwinders have silently suffered generations of cancers. 75 years after the world's first nuclear bomb, codename Trinity, is secretly detonated in southern New Mexico, a Latina cancer survivor catalyzes a movement demanding justice for a legacy of lethal radiation. FWBNM follows Tina Cordova, a dynamic Latina business woman and cancer survivor, who has catalyzed a grassroots movement in south-central New Mexico to seek justice for the Native and Latinx communities who have suffered from the 1945 Trinity Test.”
Lois Lipman (Director/Producer) is an Emmy and Peabody award winning 30 year career documentarian who field produced 24 international stories for CBS News 60 Minutes and produced hour long documentaries for Channel 4 – UK and the BBC.
“I was astonished to discover the untold tragedy of the Trinity bomb. I am making this film to witness the people’s narrative for voices not yet heard. We should not just let the US government's scientific achievements be the only picture in the frame about Trinity. Hopefully by shining a lens on this tragic scenario, the affected communities will get the recognition and justice they deserve.- Lois Lipman”
Morgan and Stacey discuss the shocking truth about the story behind the story of Oppenheimer. Learn how the sisters have become passionate about bringing this story to light and what you can do to help. We are urgently asking you to help get the people of New Mexico the support that they need. The US government needs to extend the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) before the bill sunsets in June 2024!

Thursday May 02, 2024
Thursday May 02, 2024
Morgan and Stacey kick off this episode by sharing their exhilarating experience as interviewers at the Annapolis Film Festival. It was their first time covering a media event, and even better, they were representing, Do It For the Story. Morgan, drawing inspiration from years of watching E! red carpet interviews, seamlessly hosted the festival’s red carpet (while Stacey was out sick). She interviewed stars like Jennifer Esposito, Eddie Falco, and Emily Bader with wit and charm. Beyond their behind-the-scenes escapades, Morgan and Stacey discuss the festival’s resounding success. Filmmakers and artists alike praised it, making Annapolis shine! The prevailing themes? Inclusivity, diversity, and kindness. In this episode you’ll also get to hear their interview with Eliza Jayne South, Australian writer and actor, of the short film, Chum. Eliza talks about Chum and the makings of the film and all of the adversity she has overcome in her life and in the industry as a blind woman. You can’t listen to this episode without being inspired!
As they eagerly await next year’s festival, Morgan and Stacey extend a massive thank you to the organizers for having them: Lee Anderson (Founder & Director), Patti White (Founder & Director), and a special shout-out to the marketing team—Elyse Colgan (Director of Engagement) and Ariel Gomez (Marketing & Social Media Coordinator). Their support was invaluable! Thanks for listening and remember to Do It For The Story! Cheers DIFTS!
